Underground Plumbing Inspection

Underground plumbing is installed before the slab is poured and is permanently hidden once concrete placement begins. Errors in pipe slope, layout, connections, or sleeve placement at this phase cannot be corrected without breaking concrete — one of the most disruptive and expensive repairs in residential construction.

What is Inspected

Drain line slope and direction are verified to confirm proper flow. Pipe connections, fittings, and joint integrity are examined. Pipe sleeve installation at foundation penetrations is verified. Stub-out locations are confirmed against the approved plumbing plan. Soil conditions and bedding around pipes are reviewed prior to backfill and slab prep.

Why this Phase Matters

Once the slab is poured these systems are gone from view permanently. A slow drain, a failed joint, or an incorrectly sloped line discovered after closing means concrete has to come up. An independent inspection at this phase is the only opportunity to verify the work before it is sealed in place.
